A day sailing a Tall Ship
On Sunday 30th June 8 young people with their parents or carers had the chance to become part of the crew of the Queen Galadriel for the day.
After being welcomed on board and an important safety briefing the youngsters spent the day learning how to tie rope knots, read maps, steer the ship, swab the decks and for the truly adventurous climb the rigging.
Everyone was expected to help prepare lunch and clear up and at the end of the day all the trainee sailors young and old received a certificate as a memento of their voyage.
Everyone had had an exhausting but exhilarating day on the sea and all wished they could have stayed longer.
