Setting Sail on the MV Pocahontas Along the Thames

On a gloriously sunny day in May, thirty families with 120 of our members joined the crew of the MV Pocahontas for a day trip along the Thames. After taking a small ferry crossing from Tilbury to Gravesend we all boarded the ship and commenced our trip up the river Thames to Greenwich.

A running commentary by the Captain made the trip all the more interesting as points of interest previously unknown to most of us were pointed out. Passing under the QE2 bridge and through the Thames barrier to pass around the O2 peninsula were just some of the highlights, before we arrived at Greenwich where we were able to disembark and enjoy the delights of this wonderful town for three hours.

The trip was an outstanding success and we shall be repeating it again next year, so if you missed out and would like to join us next time please contact us and leave your details.

A Big Thank You to the captain and crew of the Princess Pocahontas for making the trip so enjoyable and entertaining.
