We are grateful to a number of local organisations which provide support, facilities and services to our group for the benefit of our members often free of charge or at a significantly discounted rate.
The organisations below are just a number of groups which have helped and supported us over the years. If you are interested in supporting us by providing us with facilities or services or would like to raise or donate money to our charity, or would like to discuss with one of our committee members how you could possibly help us in future please contact us.
We are delighted that over the years we have established a successful collaboration with Waitrose, Southend. They have generously allowed us to use their exit foyer for our collection weekends and they also run cookery workshops for our members providing us with a dedicated cooking area, professional demonstrator and tutor and supplying all materials.
In addition we have benefited from their successful in store charity fundraising activities.

The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service have established very special Firebreak courses for teenagers with Down’s Syndrome.
The courses usually run for a week and the teenage participants work with instructors who teach them some of the skills and disciplines needed to be a firefighter.
The course also aims to improve the youngsters communications skills and show them how to work in a team building confidence and motivation.
In particular we would like to thanks Youth Development Manager Donna Finch and the Fire fighters at Essex Fire and Rescue Headquarters, and in particular the Fire fighters who volunteer their free time to run these courses.

Dusty Eggshed are a five piece band, with fabulous vocals, playing classic rock/pop music from the 1950’s to date.
Dusty Eggshed were approached to provide live music at our charity ball in 2008 and insisted on playing for free. They were so impressed with the event and the way our teen members were straight on the dance floor they have continued to play for us at several more Balls over the past few years and continue to only accept payment for the cost of their expenses. We thank them for their great musical talents and their continued support.
