Our Typical Members

The charity is free for anybody to join for the first year so there is absolutely no obligation for anybody to do anything but receive news updates, newsletters and information about events.

Our members consist mainly of two groups:-

  • The first are families or friends who have a relation with Down Syndrome and are looking for information, reassurance and guidance on what to do to assist them in the times ahead. All of our committee have had children with Down Syndrome so know exactly what Parent, Grandparents and Siblings are going through. Often reassurance and some simple tips are all that is needed to alleviate worries.  We are also able to put members in touch with local support groups where a cup of tea and a chat with others can help tremendously.
  • The second group consist of mainly Health and Education professionals who are looking for advice and information as they have patients or students with Down Syndrome. Throughout the year we run information days for these professionals to meet key experts in the field of education and health related matters to increase their ability to provide the best possible service for our members.

You can become a member through our website, or simply contact us if you’d like to find out more.
