Providing support & information about Downs Syndrome in the Essex & North East London area

We went wild at Call of the Wild

In May, Downs Syndrome Extra 21 went to Call of the Wild zoo for the day. Located in South Woodham Ferrers, Call of the Wild was the perfect zoo for us all. It has a multitude of species of animal including reptiles, farm animals and butterflies. The butterfly enclosure was definitely the highlight of the day as the butterflies got up close and even landed on us. We spent lots of time Looking at their beautiful wings and trying to match their wings to their species.

Another highlight of the day was the magnificent birds display. We all sat down and watched as a zoo keeper showcased some of the amazing things that birds can do. One bird flew over our heads which was so exciting!
