Singing Hands CrowdFunding Campaign to Make Makaton Pop songs DVD/CD

Singing Hands Pledge Campaign launched to create a fresh and
contemporary album and DVD of popular songs for older
children/teenagers and adults who use MAKATON.

Suzanne and Tracy, Co-Founders of Singing Hands are well-
known for creating Early Years/schools resources to help young
children learn how to sign.

We now want to create a DVD and CD album featuring popular
hit songs based on the theme of friendship and happiness for
older children, young people & adults. Currently there are no
resources like this for people who still need Makaton signing
support. As many of you know, we are both parents of disabled
children ourselves – they are now 17 years’ old – and we feel
strongly that all our older children deserve to have access to age-
appropriate pop songs!

Singing Hands use MAKATON sign language and symbols to
translate the meaning of the lyrics of songs with the aim to teach,
demonstrate and communicate the sign language in a fun,
effective and creative way. Our unique approach has enabled
millions of people to use MAKATON and help them engage with
the world around them.

This new album is focused on reaching out to older children/
teenagers and young adults with hit pop songs that everyone will
know and can sing/sign along to. Through this album and our
work with those with disabilities we aim to spread awareness of
MAKATON signing in a fun, approachable, contemporary way.

The Campaign was launched on 21st March 2017 which was
World Down Syndrome Day and 5% of the proceeds of
the Pledge will be donated to the Down’s Syndrome Association.

ordering the DVD/CD but there are lots of other Pledges that can
be made in order to help us reach our funding target.
