Providing support & information about Downs Syndrome in the Essex & North East London area

The Guardian Public Service Awards 2013

Essex Fire and Rescue,  Partnership Runners-up
Firebreak safety courses boost self esteem for children with Down’s syndrome
After the immense success we have had partnering with Essex Fire and Rescue team the Fire Break course was nominated for the Guardian Public Sectors Partnership excellence award this year. From a list of over a thousand nominees we were shortlisted to the final 3 and our Chairman along with Donna Finch and other members from the Essex Fire and Rescue team were invited to the awards ceremony in London on the 12th November.
Sadly it never won but to reach the final and be runners up was a superb achievement and one to to commended for all the good it has done and help to all of our members who have taken part.
A big thank you from all of us at DSE21 goes to Donna and the team that provide such a wonderful opportunity for our teenagers to experience and develop within. Onwards and upwards for the future.
